University of California Irvine Language Science Lecturer: 2025-26 Position overview Salary range: Salary range: The salary range for this position is $66,259-$72,404. Position description The Department of Language Science has an open position(s) for a qualified Lecturer/Lecturers. Applicants to be considered will serve as Lecturer(s) as early as September 2025. Qualified applicants will need to be able to teach one or more courses each quarter (possibly up to nine courses in the academic year) in areas of language science including theoretical linguistics, language acquisition, psycholinguistics, bilingualism, sociolinguistics, computational linguistics, corpus linguistics, and applied language science. There may be the opportunity to teach one or more of the courses online. These positions may be available during the Fall 2025, Winter 2026 and/or Spring 2026 based on departmental needs. We are seeking candidates with strong teaching credentials who can contribute to the quality of our undergraduate Language Science program and potentially contribute to our research program. The number of courses available varies by quarter and year. Candidates should have a Ph.D. The review process will begin on March 21, 2025, and screening will continue until positions are filled, with a final closing date of February 6, 2026. Screening of applicants is ongoing and will continue as needed. This term appointment falls under the purview of the agreement between the University of California and the American Federation of Teachers.
