Large utility is looking for an Environmental Analyst in Jackson, MI. This role supports land and water protection for utility projects by assessing construction impacts, securing natural resource permits, ensuring compliance with environmental regulations, utilizing GIS tools, and collaborating with permitting agencies. responsibilities:




  • Support land and water protection through construction project assessment and natural resource permitting for utility projects.

  • Interpret local, state, and federal environmental regulations to determine compliance obligations.

  • Assemble and file natural resource permits at the local and state level.

  • Ensure compliance with water-related regulations, including Michigan's natural resource protection regulations (e.g., Part 91, 301, and 303).

  • Utilize Geospatial Information Systems (GIS) for environmental assessments and evaluations, including ArcOnline tools and ArcDesktop for mapping.


Skills:





  • Knowledge and experience in environmental permitting, compliance, and water-related regulations.

  • Established relationships with local, state, and federal permitting agencies.

  • Experience in electric generation/distribution and gas distribution/transmission utilities.

  • strong written, oral, and communication skills.

  • Ability to plan, prioritize, and oversee multiple programs and assignments.


Education and Experience:





  • Bachelor's Degree in a relevant environmental field or discipline.

  • 2+ years of relevant experience (preferred 3-5 years).
