Responsibilities:
- Install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain industrial equipment, power, lighting, control, and PLC logic controls for all production process and control equipment, this includes all electrical power (24 to 600 volts), automation controllers, VFDs, transducers, proximity sensors, and inspection devices
- Conduct preventative maintenance tasks for all electrical equipment and instruments
- Utilize a wide variety of tools and instrumentation including, but not limited to, voltage tester, ammeter, megger, oscilloscope, hand tools, power tools, personal computers, vibration analyzers, and laser measurement equipment
- Conduct project work/electrical upgrades and monitor contractor project work and upgrades
- Lead other employees, provide OJT for new employees to the department, and accurately record and communicate shift activity
- Provide support to primary plant operations
- Provide total equipment coverage, includes (but is not limited to) packaging lines, processing, filling, warehouse, and facilities where necessary
- Assignments include responding to equipment emergencies, troubleshooting system input/outputs and multiple sensing devices, communicating routinely with line personnel and supervision to maintain knowledge of the latest production schedule, communicating potential equipment problems to production and maintenance supervisors to allow scheduling of repairs, looking for and implementing equipment and outputs, and finding analog control values in the PLC logic programming
- Responsible for implementing and maintaining the effectiveness of the quality system
- Maintain technical competence in advancing technology via frequent training courses, on-the-job training, and vendor programs
