Description of Work:
The Assistant Athletic Director for Facilities and Venue Management will oversee the day-to-day operations of the Bob Devaney Sports Center Complex, including the Outdoor Track, Hibner Stadium, and Dillon Tennis Center. This role involves managing operations staff, supervising event setup and breakdown crews, and ensuring facility readiness for athletic events, special events, and external bookings. The position requires leadership in scheduling, custodial oversight, minor capital projects, and facility access management. The role will report directly to the Sr. Associate AD for Capital Planning and Facilities, the role will work closely with project management and event management units.
Additionally, the role will drive revenue by optimizing internal and external facility use for events such as concerts, rodeos, and other special engagements, while serving as the primary point of contact for these events. The Assistant Athletic Director will ensure all events meet university standards and NCAA compliance requirements, fostering a culture of collaboration and operational excellence. The selected candidate will have a demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion.
Minimum Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Sports Management, Facility Management, Business Administration, or a related field and 5 years progressively responsible experience in athletic facility operations, venue management, or related fields.1 year experience as a Director or equivalent leadership role required. Strong understanding of building systems, athletic turf systems, and maintenance protocols. Exceptional organizational and time-management skills with the ability to multitask in a high-pressure environment. Proven ability to manage operational budgets and staff effectively. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build relationships with stakeholders, staff, and external vendors.
Preferred Qualifications:
Master's degree in Sports Administration, Facility Management, Business or a related field. Experience managing NCAA or professional sports facilities.
