Senior Export Compliance Officer

As a Senior Export Compliance Officer here at Honeywell, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that our company operates within the boundaries of export laws and regulations. You will be accountable for developing and implementing export compliance policies, procedures, and strategies to ensure that our business units comply with all applicable export laws, regulations, and international trade controls.
You will report directly to our Export Compliance Manager, and youll work out of our Charlotte, AZ or Columbus OH location on a hybrid work schedule.
In this role, you will draft, prepare and review a high volume of export license applications. You will collaborate with other members of the overall Licensing organization on best practices and metrics / internal reporting. You will manage OCR-EASE recordkeeping requirements for complex export authorizations, and provide training as needed to Export Compliance Officers, Authorization Owners and Customers business managers. You will create and manage metrics, KPIs and present to leadership on turnaround time, develop, review, update, and implement comprehensive export compliance procedures and forms to drive the Companys overall compliance with export laws and regulations. This position works with the functions and businesses to ensure export compliance requirements are published in and adopted by business and/or functional processes communicating procedural changes via email, through training, and other communication vehicles, and supporting the Export Compliance investigations team in investigating and resolving compliance problems, questions, or complaints and perform or support export related audits including facilitation of data gathering requests.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Oversee compliance related to post-approval reviews for export authorizations
- Oversee compliance related to post-approval reviews for export authorizations
- Conducts reviews of Export applications
- Develop, edit, communicate procedures and related forms
- Assist with training and training development
- Provide guidance on export regulations
- Maintain record keeping
- Compliance resolution
- Communicate clearly with business and functional personnel on export-related matters

YOU MUST HAVE
- Minimum of 5 years in export compliance
- Robust knowledge of the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and/or Export Administration Regulations (EAR)
- S. Person status as defined by the ITAR
- Experience with SAP / GTS or other ERP systems and related export compliance modules

- Masters degree or juris doctorate a plus
