Leidos is seeking our next Space Mission Analyst to work in San Diego, CA, as part of a small team to support space mission payload operations, and interface with Customers and End Users to tackle their most stressing multidisciplinary challenges. The ideal candidate will have space domain experience working with operators, analysts, and engineers through all stages of the space and ground systems product lifecycle – from development to test and operations.

Primary Responsibilities
- As a member of the mission operations team, develop or refine mission Concept of Operations (ConOps).
- Perform and support mission level analyses for internal and external customers.
- Provide technical support in the development of mission architectures.
- Work closely with other engineering disciplines and the associated leads to ensure design closure.
- Support, create, and maintain mission specific documentation.
- Support system level day-in-the-life analyses.
- Identify, create, and/or use available software tools to model and analyze a given system’s performance and capability with respect to mission objectives.
- Support system operational planning and execution phases.
- Help improve tasking, reporting, and collection processes based on resource utilization.
- Assist the development of tools and processes that improve analysis and reporting.
- Recommend ideas, tools, and approaches to improve processes and the resulting products
- Provide feedback on data files to ensure quality.
- Travel 10-20% of time.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Science from an accredited university and 8+ years’ experience.
- Demonstrated ability to analyze space system solutions to meet mission needs.
- Understanding of missile warning, tracking and defense using infrared sensors
- Experience with STK, MATLAB, and python.
- Active DOD Secret or higher clearance.
- U.S. Citizenship is required.
- Ability and willingness to work onsite in San Diego, California.
Preferred Qualifications
- Demonstrated understanding of image processing and tracking algorithms.
- Experience with Space based OPIR systems (SDA Tracking Layer, HBTSS, STSS, SBIRS, other).
- Additional software skills such as C++ and GitLab.
- Ability to work directly with government customers in both informal and formal engagements.

Pay Range:
Pay Range $104,650.00 - $189,175.00The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
