Gift Shop Manager (Village Store) - Military Veterans

Cape Fox is seeking a talented, outgoing professional to manage our premier gift shop The Village Store. The Manager plays a key role as an ambassador for Cape Fox organizational culture and values and shares in the commitment of the organization's vision and goals. The Manager promotes a positive work culture where team members are motivated. The Manager leads by example and communicates effectively with team members and customers. The Manager utilizes knowledge of commonly used company concepts, practices, and procedures to perform the role. The Village Store Manager manages and oversees The Village Store and is responsible for the day-to-day operations, including managing staff, inventory, and sales. Other duties will include maintaining pleasant store appearance and cleanliness, training staff on cash registers, maintaining stock supply, operating and balancing cash registers, preparing daily sales reports, providing exemplary customer service and facilitating communications between upper management and store staff.
Duties include:
- Interview and hire competent, reliable, and high-performing staff.
- Ensure proper scheduling of staff and that correct number of employees are working during busy periods.
- Train and orient new staff members.
- Responsible for loss prevention.
- Train employees on cash register usage.
- Develop, implement, and maintain budget.
- Develop and implement strategies to increase sales and improve customer experience.
- Monitor sales data to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.
- Assist customers, staff, volunteers, and visitors as related to tours and retail.
- Conduct daily close out and shift sales analysis
- Keep store clean and presentable always adhering to health and safety protocols.
- Interact with employees and guests in a welcoming and professional manner
- Stay up to date on fashion and sales trends relevant to the industry and location.
- Demonstrate adequate knowledge of local environment and cultural history, practices and lifestyle of today.

Job Requirements
Two (2) or more years of experience in a tours/hospitality environment and retail management is highly desired.
High school diploma or GED is required
College course work is desired but not required for this position.
Strong leadership skills with ability to quickly handle challenging situations and resolve conflict.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, organizational, and customer service skills.
Ability to analyze data and make informed decisions.
May need to work a variable work schedule.
Must be able to work with difficult customers/guests in a professional manner.
Must have or be willing to gain extensive product knowledge.
Strong understanding of marketing and product development.
Ability to maintain confidentiality
Strong attention to detail.
Self-motivated with minimal oversight.
Computer skills including POS, Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
Must have authorization to work in the United States as defined by the Immigration Reform Act of 1986.
