2D Laser Field Service Technician - Military Veterans

Our client is a leading specialist in machines and systems for sheet metal working with manufacturing facilities in Italy, Finland, USA, and China, from which they deliver machines and systems all over the world. Their sales and service network is active in over 80 countries, with a direct presence or through a network of specialized dealers.
They are looking for transitioning veterans to join the 2D Laser Field Service Team, where you'll be a key part of a technical support team that provides on-site telephone and email support. You'd travel to customer locations in North America to perform on-site training, installations, repairs, and maintenance on both hardware and software.
You will troubleshoot and solve problems to determine what is malfunctioning and then provide the customer with a solution taking the problem from start to finish.
Essential responsibilities:
- Perform total system-level troubleshooting on complex multi-symptom problems and on-site repairs. 20%
- Examine machines both mechanically and electrically and perform repairs by dismantling machines and rebuilding mechanically and electrically. 15%
- Setup high power Ytterbium Fiber Laser and connect to adaptive optics cutting head and verify beam acquisitions, 15%
- Perform software updates on HMI, PLC, and open system CNC controllers.10%
- Effectively interpreting schematics and block diagrams to analyze and troubleshoot problem products. 10%
- Monitoring the laser systems, optimizing the output of the lasers, and researching issues with the performance of the lasers. 10%
- Training customers in the use and maintenance of our products 10%
- Document in detail product problems and resolutions. 10%
Base salary, $75K - $90K, along with full benefits, specialty tools provided, phone, laptop, PTO, and per diem.
