Industrial Packaging Organization in the San Francisco Bay area is seeking a Sr. Design Engineer to add to their team. The ideal candidate will have a BS or MS in Mechanical Engineering w/ 5+ years of manufacturing design experience, Packaging Engineering Degree is a plus! Proficiency in CAD/SolidWorks, working knowledge of ISTA and ASTM, and ability to design and manage packaging solutions.
All candidates must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship now or in the future.

responsibilities:
- Design and develop packaging solutions using internal and sourced materials
- Oversee design specifications and approvals for outsourced projects
- Provide technical packaging expertise and collaborate with cross-functional teams
- Create CAD drawings, assembly instructions, and material lists
- Ensure packaging solutions meet project timelines, construction requirements, and budget
- Mentor junior engineers and support special engineering projects as needed
- Visit customers and suppliers to review technical aspects and gather information
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Packaging Engineering Degree, a plus!)
- At least 3 years of 3D modeling experience (CAD/SolidWorks proficiency)
- Crating experience required
- Understanding of ISTA/ASTM
- Experience working in a manufacturing environment
- Automotive or semiconductor/electronic experience
