Job Description The Division of Occupational and Environmental Medicine in the Department of Medicine at the University of Maryland School of Medicine is seeking a clinician-scientist faculty member at the Associate or full Professor rank. The candidate will complement an existing faculty engaged in clinical investigation of military environmental exposures and in providing occupational medicine consultation services for at-risk populations, and for employee health services for university or affiliated workers. Teaching responsibilities at the undergraduate and graduate medical school level will be combined with clinical teaching for residents. Expected faculty rank and salary will be dependent on selected candidate's qualifications. Expected salary range for Associate Professors is $224,500 (min) and $344,000 (max). The referenced salary range reflects base pay, which is based on faculty rank and years in rank. This salary range does not include all components of the departmental faculty compensation program or pay from participation in departmental variable compensation programs. Therefore, the actual compensation paid to the selected candidate may vary from the salary range stated herein. Salary for the full professor rank is higher and based on experience of the candidate. The referenced salary range represents the minimum and maximum salaries for this position and is based on the University of Maryland School of Medicine's good faith belief at the time of posting. Not all candidates will be eligible for the upper end of the salary range. The actual compensation offered to the selected candidate may vary and will ultimately depend on multiple factors, which may include the successful candidate's geographic location, skills, work experience, internal equity, market conditions, education/training and other factors, as reasonably determined by the University. Qualifications The successful candidate will be BC in Internal Medicine, Occupational Medicine and in another sub-specialty applicable to the practice of Occupational/Environmental Medicine. Ideal candidates will be clinician-scientists possessing a proven track record of success in clinical research and in obtaining grants and contracts for scholarly inquiry. The candidate will also possess outstanding clinical skills with a strong commitment and experience in patient care and teaching. This position requires a medical degree from a recognized accredited domestic university (or foreign equivalent) and all candidates must be eligible for an unrestricted license in the State of Maryland.
