The UCPath Center is the University of California's shared services center in Riverside, CA. The UCPath Center manages the payroll, benefits, and other human resources transactions for more than 200,000 UC employees working across ten UC campuses, six medical centers, three national labs and more. The staff at the UCPath Center work in a variety of areas including business operations, customer service, quality management, technology, training, human resources and communications. Position Summary
The IT Business Analyst Intern will provide technology solutions and customer service within UCPath, on applications and projects supporting the entire University of California. The intern will be responsible for a variety of projects supporting the team within Information Technology Shared Services.

Tasks will include:

  • Gather and research information and functional requirements.
  • Write drafts of communications and other documents.
  • Assist in preparing presentations.
  • Assist with various administrative tasks such as scheduling and coordination.

Key Responsibilities
  • Formulate and define basic systems scope under direct supervision.
  • Analyze basic business problems and assist in the creation of systems specifications.
  • Document user requirements.
  • Assist the ITSS Business Analyst with various projects in a research and communication capacity.
  • Assist the ITSS Administrative Assistant with scheduling and other administrative tasks. Gather the agenda for and attend the Monthly ITSS all-hands meeting. Take and publish meeting minutes after the meeting.
  • Work closely with UCPath project teams to ensure alignment and accuracy of proposals and recommendations with project goals.
  • Assist other groups within ITSS as needed.

Qualifications
Required
  • Strong interpersonal and oral communication skills
  • Strong writing skills, including the ability to write clear and concise emails
  • Ability to communicate technical information to personnel at various levels in the organization
  • Demonstrate interest in learning in an enterprise environment
  • Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to be flexible and adaptable as priorities evolve
  • Strong Knowledge in Microsoft Office

Preferred
  • Previous experience or coursework in customer service, data analysis, and team projects
  • Experience using a task-tracking tool such as ServiceNow, Jira or the equivalent


Education
  • Currently enrolled University of California student
  • Bachelor's degree or undergraduate degree in progress with expected graduation in Spring or Summer 2025
  • Pursuing a degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field

This range takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. It is not typical for an individual to be offered a salary at or near the top of the range for a position. Salary offers are determined based on final candidate qualifications and experience. The full salary range shows the growth potential for this position and the pay scale is the budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

Internships available for currently enrolled University of California students only. Non-UC students will not be considered.

Visa sponsorship not available.

This position will work a hybrid schedule which includes a combination of working both onsite at the UCPath Center in Riverside and remote in California.
