Perioperative Technician | The Ohio State University - Military Veterans

Job Description Performs technical skills related to patient contact. Provides emergency care measures as appropriate. Assists in meeting the patient's emotional needs. Completes documentation in an accurate, concise and timely manner, provides indirect care to a group of patients by facilitating perioperative care. Follows universal precautions, safe handling guidelines, and all other infection control standards. Provides for safety/security of self and others and follows special precautions as related to Anesthesia/surgical areas and other appropriate locations. Promotes positive attitude to staff, families, patient/guests as well as maintains patient confidentiality. Position located at University Hospitals. Minimum Education Required Per Classified Civil Svc Specs Required Qualifications Strong reading, writing and simple math (add, subtract, multiply and divide) skills required. Successful completion of perioperative technician training program is required. Previous health care or service oriented field experience in an acute health care setting is preferred. CPR certification preferred.
