The Office: The Office for Equity, Equal Opportunity, and Title IX (EEO-TIX) at the University of Southern California (USC) is seeking a Senior Investigator to join their growing, high-profile team in the newly-created EEO-TIX Office. In this role, the successful candidate will assess reports of discrimination, harassment, and retaliation regarding protected classes; timely conduct and document fair, thorough investigations; assist with identifying the need for supportive measures; conduct alternative resolutions where appropriate; and work collaboratively with campus partners, including students, on training, investigations, projects, and initiatives. Key Responsibilities Assesses, investigates, and resolves discrimination, harassment, and/or retaliation complaints; understands and follows proper protocols for administrative investigations; creates comprehensive, well-written, and well-analyzed written reports Documents all interviews and meetings with witnesses (e.g., faculty, staff, students, supervisors, managers, senior administrators); maintains detailed, confidential case files Serves as an expert on equity and civil rights matters; provides advice and guidance as well as administrative, educational, and intellectual leadership to faculty, staff, and/or students on discriminatory practices and equal opportunity matters Stays informed of trends and developments in the field Participates in the evaluation and ongoing development of university policies and procedures Delivers training and educational programs to various university communities In addition, the successful candidate must also demonstrate, through ideas, words and actions, a strong commitment to USCs Unifying Core Values : integrity, excellence, diversity, equity and inclusion, well-being, open communication and accountability. The annual base salary range for this position is $99,756.32 - 140,068.39. When extending an offer of employment, the University of Southern California considers factors such as (but not limited to) the scope and responsibilities of the position, the candidates work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, federal, state, and local laws, contractual stipulations, grant funding, as well as external market and organizational considerations. The incumbent will have the option for fully remote work (with expectation to come on campus when needed a few times per year, or as needed). Minimum Education: J.D.Minimum Experience: 3 yearsMinimum Field of Expertise: J.D. from accredited law school and must have passed a bar exam, however not required to be an active bar member. Prior litigation experience (criminal and/or civil). Demonstrated analytical and/or problem solving capabilities. Able to manage the pressure of deadlines, with strong interpersonal, judgment, independence, and prioritization/task management skills. Ability to conduct interviews and investigations as an unbiased and neutral party. Possesses thorough knowledge of state and federal laws, regulation and personnel policies and procedures governing discriminatory practices and equal opportunity. Prior experience developing and presenting education materials. Has knowledge of complaint procedures.
