Internal Job Number: P05147CT Description: This recruitment will be used to fill one full-time Fiscal Coordinator 2 position for Financial Strategic Services within the Controller's Unit at Oregon State University ( OSU ). The Controller's Unit is responsible for providing payroll, financial and administrative services to colleges and administrative units. This position provides support in the interpretation, development and implementation of policies and procedures and play a critical role by performing analysis, auditing, projections, budget management, and recommending financial solutions. This position communicates college, university, state, federal policy and guidelines to units. This position has frequent interactions in person, telephone, Zoom, and via email with Directors/Unit Heads, staff, faculty, central university business partners, college administration and outside vendors to exchange information, collect data, make recommendations, secure approvals, and solve problems. This position operates fairly autonomously within parameters set forth by management. This position will report to a Manager within the Controller's Unit. Comply with the systems and standards when dealing with internal and external customers. Minimum Qualifications (Staff) / Guidelines (Faculty): Twenty four (24) quarter, 16 semester or 240 clock hours of accounting courses and three years of *accounting experience; OR a CPA or PA certificate and three years of *accounting experience. *Accounting experience must include at least 8 of the following: creating policies and procedures for fiscal operations; assuring that accounting system reflects program/agency operations; analyzing impact of regulations/changes on accounting budgeting systems; assuring fiscal transactions comply with accepted accounting practices, policies, and procedures; formulating and recommending corrective actions as well as accounting system improvements; developing and monitoring system generated reports; preparing and distributing a variety of fiscal reports; applying computer spreadsheets and accounting software; responsibility for an organization's total accounting functions; knowledge of governmental and fund accounting; analyzing and interpreting financial data; applying audit standards to internal procedures; communicating technical material orally and in writing; solving accounting system and application problems; preparing budgetary and GAAP financial statements; ensuring compliance with federal/state laws and administrative policies. All courses must be from accredited colleges, universities, or private vocational schools.Transcripts must be submitted for all required and/or related courses. Requirements : Commitment to contribute to a collaborative and inclusive work environment. This position is designated as a critical or security-sensitive position; therefore, the incumbent must successfully complete a criminal history check and be determined to be position qualified as per University Standard: 05-010 et seq. Incumbents are required to self-report convictions and those in youth programs may have additional criminal history checks every 24 months. Type: Office environment. Pressure to meet deadlines with competing priorities. May involve the need to work hours above the normal business day. This position, with supervisor and/or director approval, is open to a hybrid (on-site and remote work) work schedule.
