About the Job:
45% Mouse Colony Oversight
This position will be responsible for regulatory compliance, management of a breeding colony, and oversight of mouse use in the laboratory. The qualified applicant will be expected to keep detailed records, to manage a complex mouse-breeding colony whose members have many genetic backgrounds, to perform genotyping of genetically modified mice, to supervise other laboratory staff and to interact effectively with lab members and veterinary staff to ensure a high standard of care, organization and regulatory compliance.

45% Cell Culture
- Culture of human and macaque iPSCs.
- Derivation of iPSC lines
- Maintain iPSC lines in pluripotent states (naÃve and primed)
- Induce lineage differentiation of iPSCs
- Maintain all records related

10% General Lab Maintenance and organization
Assist in maintaining general laboratory organization
Assist in organizing student workers to perform weekly tasks
Assist in cell storage organization and logs

All required qualifications must be included in the application materials

Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree with a major in biological science or related field plus at least two year of experience, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant research experience to equal at least six years

Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience managing a mouse-breeding colony
- Experience genotyping mice
- Experience managing regulatory processes related to the use of rodents in research
- Experience with derivation and maintenance of hiPSCs
- Ability and motivation to perform careful, conscientious and highly organized work
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously, meet deadlines, and communicate effectively with colleagues and supervisors.
Ability to work in a fast-paced, highly dynamic laboratory environment and to apply critical thinking and effective communication to fulfill responsibilities of position.
Ability to interpret, follow and develop written experimental protocols and document work.
