Staff Accountant - Military Veterans

This role is crucial for maintaining the accuracy and integrity of our financial records and supporting key business decisions. The Financial Reporting Accountant will be responsible for preparing a variety of reports and reconciliations, as well as providing support to the construction department and managing loan and insurance documentation.

Responsibilities:

Generate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, including those related to capital planning, job costing, debt, construction in progress, and other ad-hoc reports as needed by various departments.
Collaborate with the construction department to research and resolve discrepancies and issues related to job costing.
Calculate and track percentage-of-completion data for projects.
Perform monthly reconciliations of various accounts, including notes payable, escrows, prepaid loan fees, predevelopment costs, construction in progress, cash surrender value of life insurance, and income tax liabilities.
Assist with general ledger and job cost research and corrections.
Maintain comprehensive records of loan agreements and related documentation, such as amortization schedules and debt ledgers.
Process drafts for notes payable, ensuring timely and accurate payments and recording.
Manage life insurance policy information, maintaining accurate records for financial reporting.
Process drafts for life insurance premiums, ensuring timely and accurate payments and recording.
Prepare and file escrow and construction loan draws promptly and accurately.
Prepare and file personal property tax returns accurately and on time.
Contribute to other projects and initiatives as required.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree in Accounting.
Minimum of two years of accounting experience.
Experience in job cost accounting.
Experience with Sage 300CRE/Timberline and MRI software is preferred.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Professional demeanor and a positive attitude.
