Production Team Lead, Needle Punch - Military Veterans

What you will do-
The Production Team Lead (PTL) will be responsible for leading and managing a team of manufacturing associates including Manufacturing Section/Process Leaders and Technicians and Support Technicians. This role will set strategic vision and drive systemic improvements related to efficiency, quality, cost, and employee engagement. As a Needle Punch PTL, you will be responsible for oversight of highly technical operations and equipment reliability - spanning multiple shifts including weekends.
Essential Duties :
- Lead, attend, participate, and deliver in performance metrics review meetings
- Collaborate cross functionally to drive business/operational results
- Escalate issues requiring additional resources to maintenance and engineering leadership
- Track progress to manufacturing schedule and take necessary action to ensure supply plan has been met including determining labor requirements and staffing levels daily
- Implement process and systemic improvements, preventative maintenance and equipment upgrade projects
- Support department with technical skills and knowledge and provide hands on support and Leadership in person or remotely, when necessary, across all shifts including weekends to meet business needs
Quality
- Maintain GMP, GDP and quality standards
- Utilize the Stryker Production System (SPS) to improve performance including 6S, MDI, DM, and standard work
- Coach team members in practical problem solving (PPS) to identify root causes of equipment downtime and effective long-term solutions
- Participate in monthly 6S assessments and implement corrections as identified
- Lead non-conformance investigations, and process records through quality management system
Safety
- Maintain safety rules and keep area in a clean and orderly condition
- Proactively drive to enhance and improve the work environment
- Champion safe maintenance procedures and lock out tag out process discipline
Lead/Develop
- Effective communication across multiple shifts
- Responsible for communicating with the department regarding production and quality issues when applicable
- Ensure accountability of associates including training timeliness and adherence to company policies
- Manage team’s performance, including completing annual and mid-year reviews
- Develop Individuals/Team to meet current and future business needs
What you need-
- Bachelor’s Degree preferred or actively pursuing a degree - required (in lieu of Bachelor’s degree, must have 6 years equivalent industry/subject matter expertise)
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a Manufacturing cGMP environment - required
- Previous people management experience - required
- Must be effective communicator and able to lead team
- Advanced math skills and computer skills (Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook) are essential
- Able to effectively manage employees’ performance while maintaining a “keep it personal” culture
- Needle Punch/Nonwovens technical experience
- Ability to troubleshoot and diagnose equipment malfunctions
- Strong electrical and mechanical experience
