4-H is America's largest youth development organization-giving kids a voice to express who they are and how they make their lives and communities better. 4-H provides experiences where young people learn by doing.
As a 4-H Extension Assistant, you will:
- Transform lives by delivering, teaching and managing effective educational programming in 4-H by providing positive youth development to include current and emerging youth issues in assigned area.
- Engage youth through a variety of learning strategies at appropriate places and times.
- Travel within service area.
This position is located in Wilber, NE and serves Saline County. Within the UNL system, the position is categorized as an Extension Assistant.

Minimum Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in youth development, education or closely related field. Bachelor's must be completed by start date.
- Demonstrated ability to teach.
- Ability to keep accurate records and prepare reports.
- Must have a valid driver's license and meet University driver eligibility requirements.
Preferred Qualifications:
The following qualifications are preferred but not required:
- Experience with youth work through other organizations as an employee or volunteer.
- Previous 4-H or teaching experience.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, leadership and teamwork skills.
- Knowledge of spreadsheet and data management software preferred.
- Self-starter with excellent organizational skills.
- Social media skills.
- Ability to speak language(s) other than English, Spanish preferred.
