Field Sales Representative - Military Veterans

We are looking for a passionate and driven Field Sales Representative to engage with clients through on-campus activities and sales calls. This role involves actively managing a sales pipeline, building relationships with key decision-makers, and executing sales strategies to drive revenue growth. The ideal candidate has strong communication skills, a proactive mindset, and the ability to work independently while contributing to a high-performing sales team.

Key Responsibilities:
Sales Calls & On-Campus Activities:
Develop and execute a daily schedule of sales calls for each campus visit.
Conduct client meetings following sales training guidelines.
Deliver and manage sales materials, including books, brochures, and software demos.
Provide ongoing support and service to assigned accounts, including campus bookstores.
Accurately manage customer data, sales opportunities, and pipelines in the company’s CRM.
Reporting & Communication:
Maintain regular communication with the sales manager through weekly calls.
Submit daily sales tracking reports, sampling activity, and CRM updates.
Provide market insights, customer feedback, and competitive intelligence.
Ensure timely submission of expense reports and other required documentation.
Organizational Planning:
Plan and coordinate campus visits and travel itineraries to maximize sales opportunities.
Maintain an organized home office and company vehicle for optimal efficiency.
Attend and actively participate in professional conferences and sales meetings.
Budget Management:
Efficiently allocate sampling budgets to maximize sales impact.
Strategically manage travel and entertainment expenses.
Monitor operational expenses to ensure cost-effective sales execution.

Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree.
Direct sales experience (publishing experience preferred but not required).
Ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative sales team.
Strong communication skills and a self-motivated work ethic.
Interest in working within an academic environment.
Proficiency in computers and basic software applications.
Valid driver’s license and ability to travel extensively, including working over 40 hours per week during peak seasons.
