Job Responsibilities

The Lincoln Electric Operations Management Internship Program provides meaningful experiences that will enhance your education. Interns will be based at one of our U.S. locations with a majority of the opportunities based in Cleveland, Ohio. Positions will vary based on student interest, skillset, and academic level achieved. 

 

Learning while earning: The Operations Management Internship program is designed to give candidates the opportunity to gain practical experience that will prepare you for a future at Lincoln Electric. The projects you will work on are real world scenarios where you can impact true business outputs. As a member of the program, you will be exposed to a wide variety of operations and core business operations such as:

  • Supply Chain
  • General Operations
  • Production Planning
  • Finished Goods
  • And More!

Networking: Lincoln Electric is committed to keeping our Co-ops and Interns fully engaged in our company culture. Co-ops and Interns are each assigned an employee ‘Peer’ to help introduce them to the company and serve as a mentor throughout their term. Various networking events are held to interact and socialize outside of the office with not only Lincoln interns, but interns from other area companies, providing a unique perspective on building a career in Northeast Ohio. Previous events have included: National Intern Day, bowling, golfing, and luncheons with key leaders and executives.

 

Community Engagement: As one of the largest employers in Cleveland, Lincoln Electric maintains a positive presence in the community through philanthropic efforts and corporate functions. Employees participate in community service projects through organizations such as the Greater Cleveland Food Bank, Greater Cleveland Habitat for Humanity, and Fleece and Thank You. Every summer, Lincoln Electric fields sports teams to compete against other companies in the Cleveland Corporate Challenge – and we like to win! 

 

Professional Development: As the Welding Experts, we couldn’t let our Co-ops and Interns leave without teaching them to strike an arc! All Co-ops and Interns participate in a week-long course in our world-renowned Welding Technology Center. Co-ops and Interns are invited to attend our Internship Learning Series Workshops on a weekly basis with individuals and leaders from departments throughout the company. These sessions are designed to introduce Co-ops and Interns to departments outside of their own, along with helping them develop critical skills. 

 

At the conclusion of the term, Co-ops and Interns take the spotlight to present on their project work in front of peers, supervisors, and company leadership. 

Job Requirements

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Pursuing a bachelor's degree in engineering or business, with a preference for supply chain, operations management, engineering management, or a similar field.
  • Ability to work in the United States on a full-time, permanent basis
  • Desire to work in a manufacturing environment
  • Highly motivated and self-driven
  • Strong communication skills and business acumen
  • Ability to work independently and within groups
