A Day In The Life
This role combines the expertise of a Systems Application Analyst and a Software Engineer to oversee the maintenance, development, and optimization of software applications, APIs, and database systems. The ideal candidate will manage packaged applications, troubleshoot and resolve issues, and design and develop software solutions to meet enterprise needs. Collaboration with cross-functional teams and vendors is essential to ensure seamless system performance, user access, and alignment with business requirements.

 

As a Software Systems Eng IV you will:

  • Applications Management and Technical Support: Administer and maintain OEM and departmental software applications, including installation, user management, and system monitoring.
  • Troubleshoot application performance and operational issues, providing Tier II support and ensuring 24/7 availability.
  • Manage user/system capacity, perform system maintenance, and coordinate upgrades with IT teams.
  • Document processes and procedures while maintaining strong relationships with vendor partners.
  • Software Development: Design, develop, and maintain web applications using C#, Razor, and the .NET Framework.
  • Create responsive front-end interfaces and efficient back-end ETLs for data processing.
  • Develop and maintain RESTful APIs, ensuring seamless communication and integration between systems.
  • Use Visual Studio for code development, debugging, and performance tuning.
  • Database Management: Develop, optimize, and manage database systems using Microsoft SQL Server and SSMS.
  • Write complex SQL queries, stored procedures, and triggers while ensuring data integrity and performance.
  • Collaboration and Documentation: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather application requirements and deliver solutions aligned with business objectives.
  • Document code, processes, and project details for internal and external collaboration.
  • Train users on best practices for avoiding phishing and other cybersecurity threats, providing follow-up support and resources to reinforce awareness.

 

What We Need From You

  • Bachelor's Degree from a four-year college or university Req
  • 8+ years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Required
  • 8+ years Experience with Visual Studio, SDLC methodologies, and DevOps practices, including automation, continuous monitoring, and version control. Required
  • 8+ years Experience with JavaScript, Python, modern front-end frameworks, and cloud platforms like Azure or AWS. Required
  • Proficiency in C#, Razor, HTML, and the .NET Framework. (High proficiency)
  • Strong knowledge of Windows server/desktop systems, APIs, XML, JSON, and SQL Server. (High proficiency)
  • Thorough knowledge of Word, Excel, Power Point, Active Directory, Intune, Exchange, IIS Web services and related web environment. (High proficiency)
  • Knowledge of mobile devices including iPads, iPhones and Android. (High proficiency)
  • Strong customer service and problem-solving skills including the ability to provide diligent, prompt, and courteous responses to users’ questions or PC issues. (High proficiency)
  • Familiarity with testing frameworks and tools for unit and integration testing. (Medium proficiency)
  • Ability to manage and coordinate workload across teams. (High proficiency)
  • Availability for late-night or weekend support as needed. (High proficiency)
  • Dedication to continuous improvement and rapid feedback loops. (High proficiency)
  • Intellectual curiosity around operational business processes, data and how they all interact. (High proficiency)
  • Motivation to incorporate updated technologies like Artificial Intelligence and working collaboratively with other Business Units or corporate entities to work on exciting projects in this space. (High proficiency)
  • Preference in deploying new solutions or code in test environment to work out any bugs or issues, prior to releasing to production environments. (High proficiency)

Physical and Environmental RequirementsThe physical requirements described here are representative of those that must be met by an associate to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. While performing the duties of the job, the associate is required on a daily basis to analyze and interpret data, communicate, and remain in a stationary position for a significant amount of the work day and frequently access, input, and retrieve information from the computer and other office productivity devices. The associate is regularly required to move about the office and around the corporate campus. The associate must frequently move up to 10 pounds and occasionally move up to 25 pounds.
