Department Overview

The Software Enterprise Sales team is a group within Motorola Solutions, Inc. that provides industry leading, next generation Citizen Engagement, Computer Aided Dispatch, Records Management, Jail Management, Public Service 311, and analytics software applications to the Public Safety and Public Service markets. No other company has the breadth and depth of technology and experience to deliver end to end public safety applications and mission critical voice and data communications systems.


Job Description

Motorola Solutions offers a comprehensive, 12-week, full-time, paid internship program designed to offer hands-on experience with real projects for real products that make a real difference. You will work collaboratively with the software sales teams to develop and executive sales strategies and programs. This role will offer exceptional sales experience in a dynamic and highly collaborative environment where your ideas are valued. 

Responsibilities:

Lead Qualification & Generation:

  • Research and identify potential clients through various channels (e.g., online research, LinkedIn).

  • Qualify leads based on predefined criteria (e.g., company size, industry, budget).

  • Assist in generating leads through email campaigns, social media, and other marketing initiatives.

Sales Support:

  • Prepare sales presentations and proposals.

  • Schedule and coordinate meetings between sales representatives and prospective clients.

  • Conduct market research to support sales strategies.

  • Create and maintain accurate records of sales activities and client interactions (CRM data entry).

  • Support the sales team in preparing for and attending industry events and trade shows (potentially including setup and teardown).

Product Knowledge:

  • Develop a strong understanding of the company's software products and services.

  • Stay up-to-date on product updates and features.

  • Assist in creating product demos and presentations.

Administrative Tasks:

  • Prepare reports and presentations on sales performance.

  • Manage sales-related documentation and files.

  • Assist with other administrative tasks as needed.

Learning and Development:

  • Actively participate in training programs and workshops.

  • Shadow senior sales representatives to observe best practices.

  • Seek feedback and actively work to improve skills.

Data Analysis (Depending on the Role):

  • Analyze sales data to identify trends and opportunities.

  • Assist in creating sales forecasts and reports.

Qualifications:

  • Candidates must be pursuing a degree in Sales or a related field (e.g. Marketing, Communications, Business Administration) with a graduation date on or after December 2025

  • Excellent writing and presentation skills

  • Strong project management and organizational skills; able to shift focus and work under short deadlines

  • Highly collaborative; able to build productive, positive working relationships internally and externally
