Job Summary
Under the general direction of the SHDS Strategic Sourcing Manager 4 and reporting to the Director of Dining Operations. Strategic Sourcing Manager 3 supports University-wide strategic Hospitality and Dining initiatives, including creating an approved supplier base, implementing best-in-class strategic supplier relationships, making agreements to leverage annual procurement volume, and ensuring that strategically sourced contracts provide tangible benefits to the University. In addition, this individual will participate in all Student Housing and Dining Services-wide initiatives representing UC Davis and incorporating campus requirements.

Minimum Qualifications - For full consideration, applicants are encouraged to upload license and/or certification if required of the position
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, supply chain management or related field with 4+ years of progressive work experience in Hospitality contracting and negotiations, strategic sourcing, and supply chain management experience in a large, diverse strategic procurement environment (or equivalent combination of education/experience).
- Experience in opportunity assessments including, but not limited to, spend analysis, cost analysis, risk analysis, and market analysis.
- Knowledge of contract law, the Uniform Commercial Code, and the California Public Contract Code.
- Knowledge of the Hospitality and Dining industry, trends, needs analysis, and requirements for the purpose of identifying and evaluating appropriate solutions and/or vendors.
- Demonstrated excellent written and oral communication; listening skills to accurately interpret what others say; ability to articulate goals, strategies, and direction.
- Demonstrated organization skills, including meeting facilitation and decision-making.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and advise workgroups, work collaboratively with individuals and groups from a wide variety of backgrounds and organizational levels, to incorporate their ideas, adapt to their needs, and to gain consensus in appropriate situations.
- Demonstrated knowledge of and expertise using various proven negotiation methods and the ability to analyze a negotiation critically.
Preferred Qualifications
- Professional purchasing certification such as C.P.M. or C.P.S.M.
- 6+ years of progressive work experience in Hospitality and dining-related procurement, strategic sourcing, and supply chain management experience in a large environment.
- Demonstrated experience with data management tools and reporting.
- Experience in a higher education procurement environment, demonstrating familiarity with procurement, small business, strategic sourcing, and the policies, regulations, and issues faced by higher education research institutions.
- Proven project management skills, including setting project objectives, determining and addressing potential barriers, identifying required resources/sources, identifying process steps and milestones, and adjusting action plans to achieve desired outcomes.
