Engineering Manager, Arrestors - Military Veterans

Eaton’s ES AMER ESS division is currently seeking a Engineering Manager, Arrestors.
This role is based at the division’s headquarters site in Waukesha, WI, and offers a hybrid work schedule of three days in office/two days at home. Position requires up to 25% domestic and international travel. Relocation from within the U.S. is provided!
The expected annual salary range for this role is $123750.0 - $181500.0 a year.

What you’ll do:
This role is crucial in ensuring the technical performance of designs, communicating with leaders, and collaborating with a distributed team to drive business success (including occasional travel to our sites in Mexico, India, and within the US). Most importantly, it involves developing the team to achieve excellence and continuous improvement.
Here are some key responsibilities you’ll be handling:
Strategic Planning:
• Partner with Product and Operations leadership to develop and integrate a five-year roadmap and strategy for products and technology related to the Arresters product line.
• Identify and escalate organizational research and development needs, including headcount and expense allocation for growth and cost reduction projects.
Talent Management:
• Recruit, develop, and retain top talent to ensure alignment with the business’ top goals.
• Lead and develop the Arresters engineering team by fostering a culture of continuous learning, providing clear guidance and support, and encouraging teamwork and innovation.
Collaboration:
• Drive collaboration with internal cross-functional teams and external resources, including Eaton’s global corporate research centers and industry/educational institutions.
• Ensure engineering support of plant and cross-functional teams in pursuit of MOL (Manufacturing Operations and Logistics) and VA/VE (Value Analysis/Value Engineering) initiatives.
Project Management:
• Ensure the integrity of engineering work on processes and projects through a Stage Gate process.
• Provide timely and appropriately detailed updates on ongoing activities as requested by leadership (e.g., yearly reviews, stage gate presentations, project updates, production issues).
• Work with project managers to manage the budget for the Arresters product line.
Technical Support:
• Guide the engineering team in all aspects of engineering, including product knowledge and application, product design and CAE (Computer-Aided Engineering) tools, and design for manufacturability and reliability.
• Provide plant support, including assisting in engineering, manufacturing, and quality process and productivity improvement projects.
• Support MOL and QC (Quality Control), including production testing and day-to-day technical product support for the Arresters product line.
Qualifications:
Basic (Required) Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an accredited institution
• Six (6) or more years of engineering experience
• Two (2) or more years’ experience with leading teams, either directly or as a functional team lead
• Must be able to work in the US without company sponsorship now and in the future
Preferred Qualifications:
• Master’s degree in engineering
• Two or more years of direct manager of people experience
• Six Sigma green belt or black belt certification
• Hands-on experience with phase gate project management processes, including leading projects from concept through production
• Experience leading maintenance of line/sustaining engineering teams
• Knowledge of metal oxide varistor or voltage arrester products
• Knowledge of applicable industry standards
