Basic Qualifications
Requires a Bachelors degree in Engineering, or a related Science or Mathematics field. Also requires 8+ years of job-related experience, or a Master's degree plus 6 years of job-related experience. Must have Environmental Qualifcation Testing (EQT).
CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS: Department of Defense Secret security clearance is required within a reasonable period of time. Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.
Responsibilities for this Position
General Dynamics Mission Systems has an immediate opening for a Senior Advanced EQT Test Engineer. This position provides an opportunity to further advance the cutting-edge technology that supports some of our nations core defense/intelligence services and systems. General Dynamics Mission Systems employees work closely with esteemed customers to develop solutions that allow them to carry out high-stakes national security missions.
Duties and Tasks:
- Leads on-site test execution for Environmental Qualification Testing (EQT) of submarine equipment
- Troubleshoots electrical and mechanical product issues as they arise during the course of testing
- Understands and applies applicable military standards related to submarine environmental qualification
- Provides EQT subject matter expertise to programs with testing needs
- Generates EQT test plans and procedures
- Coordinates scheduling of test events with commercial and government test facilities
- Maintains detailed logbook notes during test events
- Maintains constant lines of communication with program team on testing progress and status
- Reviews test reports generated by test facilities
- Frequent contact with project teams across the company
- Frequent contact with test facility teams
- Frequent contact with Navy customers and technical warrant holders
- Travel required
- Strong knowledge of testing standards associated with electrical and mechanical EQT
- Strong written and verbal communications skills
- Skilled in communicating issues, impacts, and corrective actions
- Strong ability to clearly report information relevant to sound test engineering
- Team player who thrives in collaborative environments and revels in team success, meeting and
exceeding personal and team commitments - Strong ability to apply methodical approach to troubleshooting failures discovered during testing

Salary Note

Combined Salary Range
USD $136,192.00 - USD $151,088.00 /Yr.
