What will you do?
This is an entry level Design Engineer position for a graduate engineer. This position will report to the Engineering Group Leader. The incumbent receives specific assignments which are a part of broader projects. Engineering design projects will be focused on the electrification of traditional powertrains for heavy duty forklifts.
Using prescribed methods, the incumbent performs limited and specific assignments related to engineering design as part of a team. The incumbent will be responsible for the design of one or more machine systems, in accordance with the technical specifications, to achieve the product's functional requirements. This role requires fundamental engineering knowledge gained from bachelor's degree level education in engineering curriculum. Increased experience in multiple machine systems will facilitate greater success in the role. In addition to the core responsibilities, the incumbent may be called upon to establish and coordinate project schedules with the appropriate teams, and ensure the dates are achieved. Finally, they will be expected to communicate and work concurrently with other functions, including manufacturing and procurement.
Supervisor screens assignments for unusual or difficult problems and selects techniques and procedures to be applied on non-routine work. Supervisor confers frequently to assure correct methods are utilized.
Essential Functions/Qualifications:
- Candidate must hold a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering.
- Candidate must possess advanced CAD and engineering analysis skills.
- Candidate should have 4-6 years of experience designing mobile equipment.
- Candidate must possess excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- You will utilize data management tools such as spreadsheets, analytical tools, reporting software, ERP software, and project management skills to support your designs.
You will encounter all types of projects and be asked to creatively develop solutions which are cost effective, manufacturing friendly, and unique to provide solutions for our customers. You should be a team player, be flexible and creative, and have a positive attitude.
Working Hours
Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m. Over 40 hours per week when necessary to meet project goals.
