Description

Primary Function: To function as a member of the Welding Group as a welder, and welder fitter on large assemblies.

Tools and Equipment: Various types of equipment including but not limited to drill presses, sanders, fork lifts, saws, ordinary hand tools, cutting torch , overhead crane, welder, positioner, submerged arc welder, rail welder, assemblies, etc.

Materials: Structural steel parts, weldments and assemblies, various filler metal, various gasses, soapstone, crayons, etc.

Source of Supervision: Foreman

Direction Exercises: None

Working Procedure:

Functions as a member of a Welding Group producing parts and assemblies on large assemblies. Performs at skill levels including , but not limited to, operating drill presses, sanders, saws, ordinary hand tools, cutting , welding, positioners, submerged arc welder, railwelder, assembly, etc. Responsible for own work within a work group requiring coordination with other members of the group in order to maintain production. Performs other duties as assigned. Provides instruction and/or training as qualified.

Maintains a clean and orderly work area.

Must hold any governmental mandated certificates and licenses.

Must pass TMW-AWS D14.3 Welder Qualification Test and Fitting Test
