The basics of this position:
The Specialist, Records and Transcript Evaluator serves as a first point of contact for current and prospective students regarding their academic record and works collaboratively to monitor the evaluation, maintenance, and production of student records.
What you'll do:
- • Perform student record maintenance including major changes, transcript evaluation, transcript production, enrollment/degree verifications, grade changes, credit for prior learning, and record archival
• Update academic records in the student information system based on appropriate authorization and supporting documentation; maintain record of supportive documents
• Review and evaluate college transcripts, including domestic, international, and military transcripts
• Use the degree audit to determine course/degree completion and ensure consistency of evaluated courses
• Communicate with students about their transcript evaluation and answer questions
• Process outgoing transcript requests and enrollment/degree verifications
• Serve as a liaison for National Student Clearinghouse, the primary transcript generator for the College
• Monitor the automated transcript delivery process and communicate with accounting system lead when technical issues occur
• Ensure the confidentiality and integrity of student records under the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) and commit to operating in compliance 100% of the time
• Additional duties as assigned
Education, experience, and other requirements:
• High school diploma with 3 - 5 years of related experience
Preferred Qualifications:
• Preferred: Associate degree in a related field with a minimum of two (2) years of experience
• Experience working with student records is preferred
