Community College Health Faculty - Military Veterans

Job DescriptionFaculty position within a Health and Wellness department. This position requires the following knowledge and abilities:Strong discipline expertise within the field of health and wellness.Teach courses at various times and/or delivery modalities.Design and teach courses in the approved curriculum using teaching methods that support the success of diverse students.Assess student learning and academic achievement at classroom, department/program, and college levels.Participate regularly in department meetings and in department responsibilities such as budgets, schedules, articulation agreements, program reviews, program assessment, curricula development, external partnerships, and staffing.Available and willing to be actively engaged in college community.to the college and the greater community, such as college-wide committees and external partnerships.Participate in professional development activities.Minimum QualificationsEducation Requirement:Master?s degree in health or master?s degree in any field with a minimum of 18 graduate semester credits (27 graduate quarter credits) in Health.Preferred QualificationWork Experience in related field of health, public health, and nutrition.Experience teaching undergraduates in a community college setting.Evidence of commitment to student success and persistence.Experience with learner outcomes assessment and evaluation.Demonstrated ability to educate adult learners, multi-lingual learners, students with disabilities, and international students.Experience serving diverse and historically underserved populations.Working knowledge of alternative instructional techniques and delivery methods such as online education, education platforms (D2L Brightspace), digital technology, etc.Experience in online teaching or demonstrated willingness to learn and develop online courses.Exceptional team player who is willing to devote time to students and the department.Other RequirementsQualified applicants are required to attach the following documents to their online applications:Cover letter of interest addressing your qualifications for this position.Current curriculum vita or resume.Transcripts: valid unofficial copies of your transcript showing the conferred/awarded date; your name and the academic institution?s name/logo are required.If selected for hire, official original transcripts will be required.Applicants with degrees from non-U.S. educational institutions or programs will need to submit a foreign credentials evaluation (FCE) as a condition of hire.Telework (Yes/No)NoAboutWhy Choose NHCC?Choose to work at North Hennepin Community College (NHCC) and you will be joining a vibrant, and diverse professional community who believe in the power of education to change lives.
