Our client is looking to add a Production Supervisor for a 2nd Shift opportunity on a short term contract before being considered for full time employment. We are looking for someone who has 3-5 years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment. You will be responsible for production efficiency, safety, and employee performance. We need someone well versed on continuous improvement and LEAN concepts to work with other team members regarding customer complaints and process control. A Bachelor's Degree is preferred, but not required for this position and candidates must be able to work 2nd shift hours. responsibilities:
- Ensure a safe and clean work environment by guiding and educating staff on the proper use of control points, equipment, and resources, while ensuring adherence to established policies and procedures.
- Drive manufacturing performance by setting clear job expectations, planning tasks, monitoring progress, providing feedback, and coaching employees, while addressing performance issues through counseling or discipline when necessary.
- Maintain smooth work operations by overseeing each stage of the process, monitoring control points, and managing equipment and resources effectively.
- Collaborate with Maintenance and Engineering teams to maximize equipment uptime.
- Partner with the Department Manager and Quality Management Team to resolve customer complaints, address quality concerns, handle non-conformance issues, and implement process control improvements.
- Foster a positive relationship with the Union by adhering to the Collective Bargaining Agreement.
- Contribute to the implementation of LEAN principles and continuous improvement initiatives such as Kaizen, Poka-Yoke, 5S, and Kanban.
