Position Title: Systems Engineer Integration and Test (SEIT)
Location: San Diego, CA (On-site, with potential for occasional/part-time telecommuting)
Clearance Requirement: Secret
Overview:
Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a Systems Engineer Integration and Test (SEIT) to join our team. In this role, you will be instrumental in supporting the integration and testing of networked communication systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain technical documentation, including test plans and procedures.
- Create configurations to support tests and prototypes of developing systems.
- Develop troubleshooting procedures and work-around documentation.
- Conduct systems and sub-systems testing.
- Review and provide feedback on system specifications, development, test, and network documents.
- Install and configure Windows/Linux servers.
- Set up and maintain DNS/Exchange/Active Directory.
- Maintain virtual environments.
- Deploy, monitor, and maintain network gear, including switches, servers, and firewalls, and troubleshoot network-related issues.
- Capture and deploy system images.
Required Skills, Experience, and Education:
- 4+ years of experience in testing, networking, or other IT-related fields.
- Experience with Department of Defense (DoD) computer and radio systems.
- Proficient in routing, switching, protocols, VLANs, IP subnetting, LAN, WAN, etc.
- High proficiency in Linux and Windows.
- Strong understanding of automation and implementation.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain an active Secret clearance.
Preferred Skills, Experience, and Education:
- Knowledge of network security devices (e.g., firewall, NGFW, IPS, IDS).
- Familiarity with event management systems (e.g., ISE, Splunk, SolarWinds).
- Experience with Tactical Data Links (e.g., CDL, TTNT, L-16, SADL, etc.).
- Experience with live field testing and military communication systems.
- Automation, scripting, or development experience in Python or JavaScript.
- Knowledge of Containerized Virtual Environments.
- Experience developing scripts in Ansible.
- Familiarity with Agile and Scrum methodologies and logging results using tools such as JIRA and Confluence.
- Team player with a proactive attitude and the ability to be productive in a dynamic environment.
