Functional Analyst/Site Lead - Military Veterans

Torch Technologies is seeking a dynamic and motivated candidate to establish and lead our efforts in College Station, TX. This role will be responsible for coordinating stakeholder engagements, supporting technology demonstrations, and acting as a senior liaison between Army organizations at College Station and our Huntsville-based research and prototyping teams. The ideal candidate will bring extensive experience in Army Air and Missile Defense (AMD), operational planning, and strategic leadership, leveraging their expertise to drive innovation and enhance warfighter capabilities.

This position offers a unique opportunity to shape the future of Army Fires Science & Technology (S&T) initiatives, ensuring that cutting-edge missile and defense technologies are effectively integrated into Army training and doctrine.

Key Responsibilities:

Leadership & Site Management

  • Establish and oversee daily operations of Torch efforts in the College Station, TX area, ensuring seamless coordination with Huntsville-based teams.
  • Develop and strengthen relationships with stakeholders, including the Bush Combat Development Complex, Fires Center of Excellence (FCoE), Army Futures Command, and other Government organizations.
  • Represent the company and its interests in key stakeholder meetings, technology forums, and soldier touchpoint events.
  • Support business development efforts to identify and expand opportunities for growth in the College Station area.
Stakeholder Engagement & Technology Demonstration
  • Serve as the primary liaison for Missile S&T initiatives in College Station, facilitating discussions with Army leadership, engineers, and operators.
  • Organize and conduct technology demonstrations and soldier touchpoints, ensuring feedback is captured and integrated into prototype development.
  • Coordinate engagements with Army units to define operational needs and validate emerging prototype capabilities.
  • Develop briefings and reports for senior leadership on technology investment strategies and operational impact assessments.
Mission Planning & Analysis
  • Provide subject matter expertise on Army Air and Missile Defense (AMD) and Long-Range Precision Fires (LRPF) to guide the development of decision support tools.
  • Identify opportunities to leverage modeling & simulation (M&S) and artificial intelligence to enhance operational effectiveness and reduce cognitive load for soldiers.
  • Assist in defining mission vignettes, test scenarios, and operational workflows for prototyping efforts.
  • Collaborate with software and engineering teams to refine user experience (UX) concepts that improve operator interaction with advanced technologies.

Job Requirements

Required Qualifications:
  • PhD in Engineering or MS Degree, in Business Administration, Economics, or specific field of expertise .A minimum of 15-20 years of SME experience with progressively complex experience including 10 years of leadership roles. Must be recognized beyond the company as an authority in the field and have a superior record of creative work most often including published papers, patents, and disclosures.
  • 10+ years of military experience, with significant leadership roles in AMD and Fires operations.
  • Expertise in operational planning, mission analysis, and AMD weapon system employment.
  • Demonstrated success in stakeholder engagement, technology integration, and Army modernization initiatives.
  • Proven experience in briefing senior Army leadership and shaping strategic planning efforts.
  • Strong background in doctrine development, wargaming, and requirements analysis for emerging defense technologies.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Clearance
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in Army Futures Command, DEVCOM AvMC, or Fires Center of Excellence initiatives.
  • Familiarity with decision aids, AI-driven mission planning, and virtual testbed environments.
  • Experience managing cross-functional teams across industry, academia, and military organizations.
  • Background in white paper development, congressional advocacy, and S&T investment strategies.
