Medela is seeking a Senior Manager of Corporate Communication who:

• Has experience in the healthcare products or medical device industry.

• Thrives on wearing multiple hats while making great contributions within the corporate communication space.

• Has strong experience building the brand, providing support in terms of global initiatives in PR, internal communications, and external communications.

• Is accustomed to supporting global medical affairs and education teams in their efforts to provide insight and content that can be leveraged as a company.

• Has experience working in an organization with global objectives and cross-functional collaboration.

• You have a portfolio with examples of your work.

• You are a team player who is competitive with yourself.

Education/Experience Requirements – Senior Manager of Corporate Communication

• Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, or a related field is required 

• Minimum 8-10 years professional experience in corporate communications, public relations or marketing communications required; preferably in a CPG and/or healthcare environment 

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English, any other language is a plus 

• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams) and content management tools; experience with Canva and Adobe Suite is highly desirable.

• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

• Strategic thinker with a solutions-oriented approach to problem-solving.

• Experience working within an organization with global objectives and cross-functional collaboration

• Travel 10%


Position Responsibilities – Senior Manager of Corporate Communication

Brand Leadership and Corporate Reputation (Becoming the Leading Breast Milk Brand)

• Strengthen Brand Narrative: Elevate Medela’s brand and product narrative and presence by developing messaging and campaigns that resonate with diverse audiences, including B2C and B2 B customers, partners, and employees and drive differentiation, enhancing brand loyalty, recognition and recommendation across the Americas region. 

• Corporate Reputation: Create and manage proactive and reactive communication strategies to build and protect Medela’s reputation, including nurturing media relationships, and consistently drive coverage and editorial leadership for the company in the Americas region. Provide senior leaders with communications counsel support strategic issues and oversee crisis communication. 

• Product Innovation Support: Partner with marketing and corporate teams to contribute to product, category, and program launch planning. Provide PR counsel, develop key messaging and press kit, and support top-notch PR product launch execution. 

Thought Leadership: Turning Science into Care 

• Storytelling and Scientific Advocacy: Identify, develop and share compelling stories that highlight Medela’s research-based expertise, innovations, and collaborations with scientific institutions, professional associations, and advisory boards to position Medela as a thought leader and industry innovator. Provide strategic communications counsel and support to Medical Affairs & Education globally to showcase these partnerships and the outcomes thereof. Position and drive Medela’s role in shaping the standard of care by creating impactful communication strategies and content for symposia, conferences, and educational initiatives and providing implementation support. 

• Strategic Communication Plans: Design and implement regional and global corporate communication plans that cover internal and external communications, media relations, social media strategies, and event communications to amplify Medela’s thought leadership.

• Social Media Leadership: Manage and optimize leadership presence on LinkedIn for the Americas, including content creation, analytics, and audience engagement strategies. 

Culture, Sustainability & Advocacy

• Regional Corporate Responsibility: Oversee and implement regional charitable giving, community relations, and sustainability initiatives, aligning with Medela’s global CSR strategy, manage CSR budget for the Americas region.

• Internal Communications and Intranet Management: Manage and curate intranet content, maintaining a collaborative platform that informs and engages employees while sourcing and publishing relevant updates across multiple functions, including EVP, HR, Marketing and IT. Lead internal initiatives such as town halls and to align employees with Medela’s vision and strategy

• Global Communication Projects: Lead key global communications projects, including employer branding initiatives, event communications, and the development of observance toolkits to enhance Medela's corporate and employer brand.
