Cornell Health Pharmacy is a fully accredited retail pharmacy that welcomes all community members including; students, faculty, staff members and visitors. As part of the Medical Department at Cornell Health, we strive individually-focused care that is accessible for all members of our diverse community. We utilize a team approach to understand each person within the context of the Cornell community, seeking to understand how the health of each person impact the campus and how the campus impacts each person.
The Pharmacy Technician assists the Pharmacist with functions as allowed by Title VIII, Article 137 of New York State Education Law, such as preparing and dispensing prescription medications. This position works collaboratively in a fast-paced team oriented environment providing exemplary front line customer service. This role processes financial transactions involving OTC items and prescriptions, and is responsible for completing each transaction following New York State procedures in regards to prescription pick up, and will accept payment for items at time of service.

We are seeking staff that can be adaptable and have flexibility with their daily work schedule due to our irregular business timetable. This flexibility will allow us to help each customer that visits and needs to use our pharmacy services.

Required Qualifications:
- 6 months to 1 year of formal training beyond High School diploma in cashiering and/or payment at time of service transactions.
- One year experience as a pharmacy assistant in the retail or clinical setting.
- High degree of attention to detail, especially in drug accountability, medication accuracy and fiscal responsibility.
- Sensitive to maintaining patient confidentiality and meeting HIPAA requirements.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Associate's degree with field of study I science, pharmacy technology or related area.
