Clinic Services Representative II - Military Veterans

Position Summary:
Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking a Clinic Services Representative II for the Family Medicine Clinic at the Robert Wood Johnson Medical School.
Performs a variety of patient registration, billing and collection duties in support of department operations. Greets and registers patients, schedules appointments, responds to routine inquiries regarding a number of operating and billing issues, receives patient payments and performs routine bookkeeping tasks.
Among the key duties of this position are the following:
- Answers routine inquiries regarding physician's qualifications, available appointment times, and directions to facility, etc., in accordance with written policies.
- Provides physician information and referrals for care to patients, in a courteous and professional manner utilizing referral service software.
- Utilizes computer to schedule patient appointments for a variety of providers in a timely and efficient manner and in accordance with written policies and guidelines.
- Utilizes computer to process full registration information for new patients, including accurately collecting and verifying insurance information.
- Processes, researches and answers routine telephone and written inquiries for patients in a timely manner.
- Maintains computer databases.
Minimum Education and Experience:
- At least two (2) years of relevant experience in a physician's office or other medical office setting preferred.
- Prior experience accessing and retrieving information from a computer database required.

- Physical Demands: Standing, sitting, walking, talking or hearing. No special vision requirements. Ability to lift or exert force up to 25 lbs.
- Work Environment: Office environment. Moderate noise.
