Position Information:
The Student Disability Resource Center (SDRC) Support Services Coordinator functions primarily as the coordinator of the SDRC Testing Center, which provides appropriate services, materials, and equipment to support the academic needs of students with disabilities. This includes but is not limited to, coordination of exam accommodations, ASL/CART and captioning services, multimedia technologies, note-sharing accommodations, and more. This position also has responsibility for supervising front desk operations for two (2) lobby areas and administrative staff. This includes indirect supervision of student staff assistants. Position is expected to work evenings and weekends during high demand periods for the department (e.g., final exams). This is designed as an in-person/on-site position.

The full salary range for the Support Services Coordinator position is $61,000.00 - $106,800 annually. However, the expected budgeted pay scale for this position is up to $72,450 annually. We base salary offers on a variety of considerations, such as education, licensure and certifications, experience, and other business and organizational needs.

Applicants must have current work authorization when accepting a UCR staff position. Currently, we are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment Visa for staff.

As a University employee, you will be required to comply with all applicable University policies and/or collective bargaining agreements, as may be amended from time to time. Federal, state, or local government directives may impose additional requirements.

  • Knowledgeable of federal and state laws and regulations governing the provision of services to persons with disabilities.
  • Knowledge of physical disabilities and social/cultural disability issues.
  • Supervisory and organizational skills to schedule and coordinate staff.
  • Excellent skills in multi-tasking, managing a high volume of details and functioning effectively in a high-paced work environment.
  • Interpersonal and communication skills to interact and negotiate effectively with a
    diversity of people from all levels of the institution; ability to resolve conflicts with tact
    and sensitivity, and to respond appropriately in difficult circumstances.

    • Develops, implements and manages services, and coordinates acquisition of appropriate resources for SDRC Testing Center, providing for maximum independent use of Center resources by students with disabilities that include, but are not limited to: exam accommodations, note-sharing services, readers, writers, technology, and coordination with sign language/CART service providers.

  • Responsible for day-to-day supervision.
    • Directly trains, supervises and evaluates SDRC Testing Center Assistant Coordinator (Blank Assistant 3), SDRC Testing Center Administrative Assistant (Blank Assistant 2) and SDRC Administrative Assistant (Blank Assistant 2). Indirectly supervises student assistants, writers, readers, notetakers. Proactively engages in development of staff and takes corrective action as appropriate. Coordinates with vendors to schedule ASL and CART services, both in-person and virtual. Oversees operations of two front desks. Works with front office staff to ensure a welcoming, service-oriented environment is provided for students, staff, faculty, and visitors.
