Special Instructions to Applicants The program runs from June 30 through August 7, with a training day to be scheduled the week before instruction starts. The average work day will run 8:30 am 11 and 1:00 3:00 pm, with some courses going later. There are over 50 courses offered which include but are not limited to: Psychology, Business of Fashion, Economics, Mock Trial, Creative Writing, Artificial Intelligence, Film Production, Rec Sports, Computer Programming, Forensic Science, Robotics, Marketing, and many, many more. Department Summary UCLA Recreation is a large department within the Division of Campus Life in Student Affairs with approximately 90 career and contract full-time employees and over 1,000 part-time employees. UCLA Recreation provides extensive access to a broad range of recreational activities and wellbeing services, and offers programming which encompasses the competitive, passive, social, cultural, and instructional aspects of recreational activity. In addition, the department manages 15 of the University's recreational and athletic facilities offering recreation, competition, and numerous multi-use options for student and university events. Position Summary As a High School Programs Instructor for our summer academic enrichment program, you will guide middle and/or high school students through their first glimpse of the college experience. In this role, you will be working with the High School and Custom Programs Coordinator. Each instructor is responsible for developing a course curriculum, syllabus, and lesson plans based on existing course descriptions. Additional responsibilities include the request and management of supplies, daily attendance, writing an evaluation for each student at the end of each course, and teaching multi grade level students all while providing an energetic, interactive, and project based classroom experience. Salary & Compensation *UCLA provides a full pay range. Actual salary offers consider factors, including budget, prior experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business considerations.
