Business Area Security Manager - Military Veterans

Leidos Security Operations is seeking a Security Manager for the Civil Solutions Business Area within the Leidos Health & Civil Sector. This role involves overseeing security professionals across multiple states and OCONUS (overseas contingency operations) programs. We are seeking a highly skilled individual with a comprehensive understanding of security strategies and a proven track record in managing security operations.  This position is a Hybrid with a requirement to go to our Gaithersburg, MD office up to 3 times a week.  

In this position, you will be responsible for managing and executing Program Security requirements for Public Trust and DOD (Department of Defense) contracts that serve multiple customer sets. Additionally, you will develop and implement effective security strategies to protect our organization's assets.

Primary Responsibilities
• Manage overall Industrial Security Program for the Civil Solutions Business Area 
• Educate employees on security awareness, policies, and procedures through training programs and communication initiatives.
• Lead, train, and supervise a team of security personnel at various levels, ensuring they possess the skills and knowledge necessary to perform their duties effectively with the authority to hire, terminate, promote, and reward within their area, subject to manager review and approval.
•Promote a culture of security awareness by providing training to employees on security protocols and procedures.
• Support all business development initiatives within the business area, including security responses and staffing requirements.
• Establish a continuous assessment process for the security program.
• Build and sustain important relationships with key security personnel across customer, partner, and supplier organizations.
• Take part in both internal and external security compliance audits.
• Support Corporate Security functions to include, International Security, Business Continuity, Threat Management and Workplace Security
• Ensure timely notification to stakeholders on important or high-profile security incidents
• Collaborate with and advise senior leadership by providing updates, metrics, and solutions to various security challenges.
• Work together with all stakeholders to ensure that security objectives and key performance indicators (KPIs) are aligned.

Basic Qualifications
• Proven experience in creating and executing security policies, procedures, and programs.
• Experience in supporting Public Trust and Department of Defense (DOD) programs.
• Strong attention to detail and a sharp ability to identify and reduce security risks.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills to engage with all levels of the organization.
• Capable of managing sensitive and confidential information with discretion and integrity.
• Must have a Secret Clearance and be able to obtain and maintain a TS Clearance
• Requires a BA/BS or equivalent experience, and 8+ years of relevant experience, or a Master's degree with 6+ years of relevant experience. Generally, this candidate has 4+ years of experience in supervising or leading teams or projects.

Preferred Qualifications
Experience in supporting Department of Energy (DOE) programs  
Familiarity with the National Industrial Security Program Operating Manual (NISPOM)

Pay Range:

Pay Range $101,400.00 - $183,300.00

The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
