System Administrator (TS/SCI) - Military Veterans

Zachary Piper Solutions is currently looking for a System Administrator to support work for NGA’s GEOINT program on-site in Springfield, VA. The System Administrator should be eager to thrive in a dynamic environment and have a knack for troubleshooting and maintaining complex systems.

Responsibilities for the System Administrator include:
- Support implementation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of cloud systems.
- Isolate and resolve problems involving applications, OS, hardware, communications, and infrastructure.
- Prepare problem reports for leads (e.g., Amazon/C2S, NGA-ESC).
- Escalate and communicate status to management and internal customers.
- Install/load OS and application software.
- Troubleshoot, maintain integrity, and configure network components; implement OS enhancements.
- Integrate new technologies into systems, including transition and migration.
- Monitor and report on system health using tools like Elasticsearch Kibana, AWS Cloudwatch.
Preferred Experience:
· Proficiency with AWS including:
o C2S Suite and tools
o Container Platforms such as EKS and ECS
o Monitoring data with Kibana Elastic and Cloud Watch
o Connecting EC2 instances using SSH clients (MobaX Putty)
o Updating S3 bucket policies using JSON
o AWS CloudFormation knowledge (YAML/JSON).
o System monitoring experience with Elasticsearch
· Experience with ServiceNow, Jira, Confluence.
· Using LDAP for account management on Linux Servers.
· Administering clusters for reliability, security, scalability.
· Managing permissions and answering tickets.
Qualifications for the System Administrator include:
· Years of Experience:
§ 5 years of experience with Bachelor’s Degree
§ 7 years of experience with Associates Degree
§ 8 years of experience in a related field
· Must be eligible to work in the United States and obtain and maintain an Active U.S Government TS/SCI
Compensation for the System Administrator include:
· Salary Range: $92,000 - $100,000 *depending on experience*
