Clinical Engineer 2 Job Summary The Clinical Engineer 2 is responsible for installation, repair, and maintenance of OR's surgical equipment at UCDH. This position is responsible for providing repair and scheduled/preventative maintenance service on a wide variety of mechanical, electronic, and electromechanical medical devices and patient support and transport equipment. High School diploma, GED or equivalent experience/training 3 years minimum experience in surgical environment. Experience with Sterilizer/Autoclave, surgical integration, performing minor and major repairs and maintenance of all surgical equipment. Electronic technician skills including electronic troubleshooting, system troubleshooting, ability to read electronic schematics, perform electronic and electromechanical assembly and repair. Must be able to safely work on any height ladder or scaffold, comfortably and efficiently. Must be able to work in confined space and high areas. Ability to service and repair vacuum and gravity steam sterilizers both steam generated or steam feed. Ability to service and repair blanket and fluid warmers. Preferred Qualifications Experience obtaining estimates for supplies, repair parts, services and orders parts and services as needed. Experience responding to emergency maintenance requests as required Experience in electronics Experience in servicing and repairing surgical equipment such as sterilizers, washers, tables and lighting systems. Ability to work on high and low voltage. Ability to work on and with deionized water systems. Ability to work on and with low, medium and high-pressure steam. Ability to service and repair surgical equipment booms. Ability to service and repair exam lighting systems Ability to service and repair surgical lighting systems. Ability to service and repair surgical, orthopedic, spinal and fracture tables. Plant Operations & Maintenance is one of the largest operations and maintenance support providers to clinical, administrative, research, SOM and SON departments throughout the Health System. UC Davis Health is one of several UC campuses that have their own cogeneration, central power plants.
