This position is located at Cabarrus Juvenile Detention Center, a secure facility in Concord (Cabarrus County), N.C.
This position provides administrative, human resources & fiscal support to the Facility Director.
• Serves as the initial point of contact for the facility-welcomes, directs and assists visitors, staff, law enforcement. legal and mental health staff and families.
• Answers telephones, directs phone calls, takes and delivers messages to staff.
• Performs miscellaneous administrative duties as assigned by the Facility Director.
• Obtains a-quotes and bids for goods and services, monitor updates in NCAS, serves as the facility P-Card administrator.
• Processes all invoices and enters and receives E-Procurement requisitions.
• Oversees the motor fleet management vehicles on site and obtains services authorizations numbers for local repairs and prevention scheduled vehicle maintenance.
• Performs HR duties as requested such as completing Personnel Action Request.
• Archives youth records according to established procedures, coordinates the transfer of archived youth records to state archives building.
• Requests and verifies contractor's liability insurance & maintains contract files.
• Serves as the point of contact for facility workers compensation claims which include completing & submitting all Log/Summary.
• Sets up and maintains internal files for the facility to include, but not limited to, personnel files, timesheets, and monthly reports.
• Composes written correspondence on behalf of the facility director and self.
*Candidate must possess a valid NC driver's license or be able to obtain one within 30 days of hire.
Work Schedule:
This is a full-time position. Work hours for this position are Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm.

To qualify for this position, applicants must demonstrate ALL of the following KSAs:
- Knowledge of common office practices and procedures.
- Experience multi-tasking while responding to questions/ inquiries and using diplomacy when greeting the public and/or communicating via telephone.
- Experience working independently to manage the office schedule and/or coordinate a variety of appointments, meetings and conferences.
- Experience organizing office responsibilities using time management and/or prioritization skills.
- Experience using Microsoft Office.
- Currently a Notary Public or can obtain a Notary License within 90 days of employment.

High school diploma or General Educational Development (GED) diploma and four years of related administrative experience;
OR
An equivalent combination of education and experience.

Military Experience
- Applicants seeking Veteran's Preference must attach a DD-214 Form (Certificate of Release or Discharge from Active Duty that includes Character of Discharge - Member 4 or Service 2 form) to the application.
- Applicants seeking National Guard Preference:
- A current member of the North Carolina National Guard in good standing must attach a NGB 23A (RPAS).
- A former member of the North Carolina National Guard who served for at least 6 years and were discharged under honorable conditions, must attach either a DD256 or NGB 22.
