The Herman lab at The Ohio State University is looking to hire a postdoctoral scientist, effective immediately. Our lab is located within the Department of Molecular Genetics and studies the regulation of gene expression in a model eukaryote, the budding yeast, Saccharomyces cerevisiae . The fellow will be specifically engaged in studies examining how a biomolecular condensate, known as the P-body, influences the levels of tubulin mRNAs. This work is funded by an ongoing grant from the National Institutes of Health and will be an extension of that reported in Hurst et al., (2022) Genetics 222(1):iyac105. Required: Doctorate degree in the molecular life sciences in areas like Genetics, Molecular Biology or Biochemistry. Experience with molecular genetic methodologies and a proven ability to work independently is desired. The candidate will be expected to contribute to the training of students and technicians working in the lab. The College of the Arts and Sciences Department of Molecular Genetics is seeking a Post Doctoral Scholar.
