Position Overview The Center for Aviation Studies is accepting applications for a full-time Senior Lecturer appointment to teach undergraduate and/or graduate course(s)in the Center for Aviation Studies. Duties include but are not limited to: curriculum/syllabus design, content and materials development, teaching, and service activities. The selected candidate(s) will be expected to complete activities and provide support for developing and teaching undergraduate and/or graduate students, depending on chosen candidates degree certification. All courses are taught in person on the Universitys main campus in Columbus, Ohio. The Ohio State University will not sponsor applicants for work visas for this position. Collaboration with fellow instructors Education and Experience Requirements PhD degree or equivalent in aviation, education policy and leadership, or a related area. Three to five years of teaching and/or industry related experience in the fields of aviation, technical education, technical communication and writing, or technical capstone or relevant areas. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Strong interpersonal skills. A commitment to or demonstrated efforts in teaching that reflect Ohio States Shared Values. Department Information The Center for Aviation Studies aviation programs span three colleges at the university: College of Engineering Bachelor of Science in Aviation College of Arts & Sciences Bachelor of Arts in Social Sciences: Air Transportation Fisher College of Business Bachelor of Science in Business Administration: Aviation Management The Center for Aviation Studies also offers the minor in aviation for students at the university. All aviation programs with the university have received accreditation from Aviation Accreditation Board International (AABI). Each semester 300+ students participate in labs or coursework at the university airport, utilizing its fleet of 20 aircraft, flight simulators, air traffic control tower, weather station and communications and navigation systems. Through the Center of Aviation Studies, students have the option to attend the university's Flight Education program that is housed at the universitys airport.
