SALARY RANGE: The base salary range for this position is dependent upon experience and location, ranging from $140,000 to $175,000.

Job Summary

The Manager of Project Development and Asset Management oversees the creation, evaluation, and management of Transmission, Substation and Distribution capital projects. This role ensures alignment with corporate goals through strategic project development, asset management best practices, and regulatory compliance. The position fosters innovation, ensures financial oversight, and builds high-performing teams dedicated to advancing infrastructure reliability and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic direction and vision for the entire project development and asset management teams, aligning projects with the company's long-term goals and objectives and lead the development and implementation of project development strategies, processes, and best practices across the organization.
  • Oversees team responsible for development of the majority of new T&D capital projects to a Conceptual design level ready for financial approval and eventual handoff for project execution.
  • Responsible for ensuring that all proposed T&D projects meet stakeholder and internal Investment Plan requirements by ensuring proper justification and supporting documentation is available and establishing the acceptable level of documentation required for projects based on the cost, complexity, and regulatory requirements associated with each project.
  • Lead member and contributor role at the either New England System Review Group (NE -SRG) responsible for vetting and approving new projects prior to delivering them for execution. Includes thorough review and feedback of submitted SRG stakeholder materials. May take on role of chair or vice-chair of NE-SRG.
  • Supports all aspects of UI's Long-Term Outlook of the T&D CAPEX investment portfolio including rate case preparations, regulatory funding commitments, ISO reporting, etc., and investigates reports of T&D system needs requiring comprehensive intervention assessments in a prioritized manner to ensure that issues are appropriately addressed in UI's long term investment plan.
  • Represents company interests before regional and regulatory bodies and serves as a witness on a broad range of regulatory and technical issues. Provides strategic guidance and support on complex regulatory and technical issues.
  • Oversee the financial and budgetary aspects of the project development portfolio, ensuring effective cost management and adherence to budgetary constraints, and develop and implement financial reporting and forecasting processes to support decision-making and resource allocation.
  • Responsible for the Asset Management System which develops and implement strategic vision for the ASM aligned with corporate goals, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices.
  • Oversee the integration and optimization of the AMS to support effective decision-making regarding asset lifecycle management.
  • Drive innovation and continuous improvement initiatives within the project development and Asset Management teams, seeking opportunities to enhance efficiency, quality, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Strengthen cross-functional collaboration and stakeholder management across different business units, regulatory bodies, and external stakeholders.

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Civil, or Structural Engineering.
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in T&D planning, asset management, project development, engineering, construction, or operations.
  • Proven ability to manage complex projects and cross-functional teams.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management capabilities.
  • Familiarity with project management methodologies and tools.
  • Advanced computer literacy, including operation of office automation products (e.g., Microsoft Office, Power Apps, Power BI, etc.).

Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree in electrical engineering or project development.
