We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Power BI Intern to support our FED CIV IT Business Area and assist the Business Manager in creating, enhancing, and sustaining Power BI reports. This internship will provide you with the opportunity to work with data from various business domains, including contracts, HR, timesheets, training, and other business-related areas, to help leadership make informed decisions. You will gain hands-on experience connecting datasets, designing dashboards, and using Excel and database connections to create data visualizations that drive business outcomes. This is an excellent opportunity to apply your skills in a real-world environment while supporting key operational areas.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Assist the Business Manager in developing and maintaining Power BI dashboards and reports.
- Gather and integrate data from various sources such as HR, contracts, timesheets, training, and other internal databases.
- Use Excel to clean, transform, and prepare datasets for use in Power BI reports.
- Help create interactive and user-friendly Power BI visualizations to support decision-making processes for directors and senior management.
- Ensure data accuracy and consistency across different data sources.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify data reporting needs and design dashboards to meet business requirements.
- Provide ongoing support for report updates and enhancements based on feedback from stakeholders.
- Troubleshoot any issues related to data connectivity, report accuracy, or dashboard functionality.
- Assist with ad hoc data analysis and report generation as needed.
- Document workflows and processes for data integration, report creation, and maintenance.
Basic Qualifications:
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Information Systems, or a similar field.
- U.S. Citizenship is required for this position.
- Basic knowledge of Power BI and experience working with data visualization tools.
- Proficiency in Excel, including working with pivot tables, data cleaning, and data transformation techniques.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to ensure data integrity and accuracy.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to learning new tools and techniques.
- Good communication skills and the ability to collaborate with various teams and departments.
- Ability to work on-site in Reston, VA for 4 days per week.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous experience with Power BI and the creation of reports/dashboards.
- Familiarity with database management and integration, including experience with SQL or other data querying languages.
- Knowledge of business operations related to HR, contracts, training, or timesheet management.
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills, with the ability to translate data into actionable insights.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Familiarity with data security protocols and maintaining confidentiality when working with sensitive business data.
- Experience working in an in-person office environment and supporting senior leadership.

Pay Range:
Pay Range $39,000.00 - $70,500.00The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary.
