Proposal Specialist - Military Veterans

Basic Function: Proposals consist of the preparation of budgetary & firm proposals to develop domestic and/or international business for large overseas projects and renewables within the US service team. Include making recommendations to ensure that bids and orders received are at acceptable profit levels.

Under general guidance of management, perform various responsibility in leading Overseas & Domestic new installation quotation process to meet all required Request for quotation both internally & externally. The individual will have responsibility to create proposals and cost estimates requiring the exercise of judgment and application of established practices. Pursue initiatives to improve effectiveness of the overseas quoting and increase customer satisfaction.

Role additional responsibilities:

Provide reports for Overseas & Domestic new install team and provide ITM bowler data for team Participate in Kaizen and process improvements within Overseas & Domestic new install team Review of purchase orders, terms negotiation with legal, & storage riders Get bonds, support Risk Reviews, & update Customer Relationship management (CRM) tools

Typical duties/responsibilities for business development may include, but are not limited to, the following:

Review and organize the overall quote strategy for going to market for service related to domestic and/or overseas manufactured transformers being sold into the US market. This individual will have responsibility of costing & reviewing overseas & domestic transformer bids for units being brought into the US market for C&I and Utility market. They will be responsibility to determine the best strategy for budgetary & firm quoting of this market and will work directly with the new transformer groups. This individual will have responsibility of tracking and analyzing market trends within this market segment to provide feedback to management on winning bid strategies for the overseas service product market.

Review and analyze customer specifications. Coordinate input from other departments to develop bids responsive to customer requirements. Simultaneously process information on multiple and varied projects and respond effectively to changes in priorities. Develop cost estimates for new bids and contract revisions. Utilize engineering data, drawings, customer specifications and related information to prepare cost estimates, requests for quotations for purchase of components, evaluate supplier quotations and summarize total cost estimates.

Write complete proposal documents and revise contract documents, as required. Compile data for reporting contract scope, terms, cost and profitability, to management. Review bid terms and negotiate with customers, review POs for compliance, and enter orders into order entry system.

Attend meetings to exchange information and analyze contract requirements. Participate in investigating technical problems and establishing procedures and corrective actions to avoid recurrences. Duties may require domestic or international travel.

Complexity of Tasks: Requires strong knowledge of the organization's products & service offerings, understanding of drawings and related documents, and ability to prepare cost estimates. Interfacing with other groups requires ability to communicate effectively. Work is subject to general overview to ensure quality.

Qualifications: Associates or technical degree and 5+ years of experience; alternatively, a special combination of education and experience and/or demonstrated accomplishments.
