Basic Qualifications

Bachelors degree or equivalent is required plus a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience; or Master's degree or equivalent plus a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience.

CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS:
Department of Defense Secret security clearance is required within a reasonable period of time. Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.

As a seasoned leader, youll be a subject matter expert in production planning and material requirements tools, sharing your knowledge with others in the organization. Well rely on you to develop detailed schedules, production plans and capacity plans along with complex bills of material for large programs. The Advanced Manufacturing Planning Specialist will review work authorization documents and generate material program plans and coordinate kick-off meetings with functional departments to communicate program goals and objectives.

    • Litoral Combat Ships: GDMS along with our partner Austal USA the team built 19 Independence Litoral class combat ships. Now that these ships are in the fleet the San Diego office supports their modernization and sustainment ensuring that ships are mission ready. This role is directly supporting the material handling to sustain and modernize the LCS fleet. Projects include

    • Support to deployed ships: GDMS provides support to ships deployed to 7th and 5th This includes providing spare parts and engineering expertise to resolve problems

    • GHOST: GDMS Maritime and Strategic Systems is building a fleet of small support craft to perform a variety of mission sets. GDMS San Diego will support its sustainment once delivered to the fleet.
    What you bring to the table:
    • 4 years of relevant logistics experience and ideas on how to approve the efficiency and effectiveness of the San Diego logistics team.
    • Ability to heavy items and operate a forklift or other power industrial vehicles
    • Good computer skills with knowledge of the enterprise software tools (MRP, Receiving) and associated data
    • Clear knowledge of material receiving, control and inventory methodology
    • Clear knowledge of Government Customer Property Control
    • Ability to perform physically demanding work in various environments, to include working aloft, in tight, restricted spaces on-board Naval Platforms, climbing scaffolding, ladders and standing for long periods of time on-board a Navy ship or pier and be able to lift 49 lbs.
    • Ability to travel domestically and internationally up to 20% of your time.

    REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
    • 5 years of experience sourcing components.
    • Ability to manage a team to maintain a warehouse.
    • Forklift training and certification
    • Lift up to 49 pounds
    • Push utility carts up to 60 pounds
    • Use carts, dollies, hand trucks, and other gear to move items around
    • Climb ladders 10ft or more to stock shelves
    • Ability to drive large size trucks (Ford F-150, 16 Foot Stake bead trucks)

    The Lead Warehouse Specialist will provide logistic support to field organizations and/or customers including spare or replacement parts and supplies. Well expect you to provide support to the logistics function, preparing logistics documentation to establish the range and depth of spares, tools, test equipment and related manuals to be deployed and stocked. Youll also modify maintenance records such as repair standards for more complex equipment or components.

    DIRECT RESPONSIBILITIES:
    • Work with GDMS supply chain system to purchase bill of materials. Engineering will provide a list of required and request the team complete the purchase of this material. Purchasing process includes Identifying sources for material, getting quotes from vendors, filling out order requests forms, and tracking & receiving material.
    • Work closely with the engineering management team: Analyze material lead times to ensure procurement supports project schedules and manage material inventory to reduce costs of future orders
    • Work in a team to manage 3540 SQFT of warehouse
    • Outside lot storage 1340 SQFT
    • Inside storage 2200 SQFT
    • Open packages verify material contents, log that material has been received in IFS and stock it on the appropriate shelf.
    • Create 1149s to check material out of IFS and deliver it to the Navy.
    • Conduct a 10% inventory of the warehouse monthly
    • Once a day deliver material to shipyards and Naval Base San Diego.
    • Hazardous material management:
    • Maintain a hazardous material tracker that identifies expired chemicals and logs the material that we have onsite
    • Coordinate with vendor to pickup and dispose of Hazardous materials
    • Maintain a tools and test equipment inventory. Maintain excel tracker of all the tools and test equipment (who has the test equipment currently, next calibration date, condition of equipment). Once a quoter conduct a full inventory of the tools and test equipment.
    • Work with the engineering team to pull and kit material. Engineering will provide a list of material required to complete a job. Pull the required material from the shelf remove the inventory from IFS and place it in central location.
    • Work directly with supply chain team to status material.
    • Assist projects to restock residual material from installs. Projects will have residual material work with the engineers to identify what the material is and check it back into IFS.
    • Provide a weekly report regarding the status of the warehouse and identify any concerns or issues that need to be addressed.
    • Manage and oversee the use of purchase cards for small purchases
    • Maintain a clean warehouse by regularly disposing of excess packing material and sweeping the floors.

Salary Note

This estimate represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors (geographic location, etc.). Actual pay may vary. This job posting will remain open until the position is filled.

Combined Salary Range

USD $84,764.00 - USD $91,717.00 /Yr.
