Salary/Pay Rate/Compensation:
$130,000-$140,000, relocation & H1-B transfer available

Overview
Our client designs & manufactures avionics, power supplies, and custom solutions for commercial and military aircraft. Their customers include manufacturers of small business jets, large commercial airplanes, and the US Military. They develop and utilize their own hardware, software, and their own operating system for their products. Our client is a small company with manufacturing onsite. You’ll have opportunity to be involved in the entire product lifecycle from concept through manufacturing. This includes collaboration with hardware, mechanical, manufacturing.
As part of the product development team, you’ll develop embedded software solutions for custom products running under custom operating systems. You’ll develop code for microcontrollers, PCBs, battery management, chargers, power conversion, and other product functions. You’ll be involved in projects from concept, design, testing, manufacturing and work onsite in both an office & test lab environment.
Responsibilities:
- Design and implement embedded C software for bare-metal microcontroller-based systems with an option for VHDL firmware for FPGA-based systems
- Research new components, technologies, and methods to incorporate into new designs
- Design software-based tools to support verification and manufacturing
- Build and troubleshoot hardware, including basic soldering, operation of test equipment, and daily work in both office and test lab environments
- Prototype and execute test programs to verify compliance with applicable performance, regulatory, and quality requirements
- Create and document designs in required formats, including BOMs, ECOs, and work instructions
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Computer Science
- 10+ years’ experience designing embedded software using C is a hard requirement including:
- Full end to end design exposure – front end concept, design, prototype, V&V, manufacturing launch troubleshooting, post release support.
- Programming in VHDL for FPGA is preferred
- Proficiency with C++, C#, or Python are pluses but not required (used as support tools and not the primary skill set)
- Knowledge of analog or mixed signal hardware a plus.
- Full end to end design exposure – front end concept, design, prototype, V&V, manufacturing launch troubleshooting, post release support.
- Record of products being sold in the market with your software controlling the functionality of the product.
- Hands on PCB, microcontroller, hardware, or electronic troubleshooting shooting experience – soldering/assembly of hardware to test software functionality, required.
- Any aerospace or DoD project experience a plus, but not required.
- Any working knowledge of Design for Manufacture and Design for Test (DFM & DFT)
