Clinical Research Coordinator - Military Veterans

The Clinical Research Coordinator will work closely with Dr. Alexi Wright and Dr. Andrea Enzinger on a series of clinical trials and observational studies focused on improving the quality and equity of cancer care, with a particular focus on supporting quality of life and patient and family caregiver well-being. The Clinical Research Coordinator will join an interdisciplinary research team that includes oncologists, nurse scientists, palliative care specialists, psychologists, social workers, digital health specialists, project managers, and clinical research coordinators. The Clinical Research Coordinator will help recruit patients and caregivers for a variety of studies, including a randomized trial of a behavioral treatment for cancer fatigue, a mobile health app designed to reduce pain, and a study examining the psychosocial needs of patients with young-onset colorectal cancer. They will also have ample opportunities to interact with patients, to contribute to developing educational and behavioral interventions, and to learning about scientific writing, including opportunities for publications.

- Screen, recruit, and enroll eligible patients and caregivers to participate in studies.
- Coordinate with oncology providers and research staff in the various oncology clinic to recruit and enroll patients
- Work with study populations across a range of cancer stages, including survivors and patients receiving palliative treatment
- Maintain study databases and ensure data is complete and accurate
- Review and abstract health information from patients? electronic medical records
- Prepare reports that provide current snapshots of a study?s data, participation, and progress
- Prepare and or complete regulatory related reports and IRB submissions. Maintain and organize study regulatory binders, enter all required study data on an ongoing basis.
- Willingness to learn a variety of new technologies, including REDCap and e-health/mHealth databases
- Coordinate with external sites to send and receive study equipment and materials
- Attend weekly meetings and meet with the study team
- Support the development and submission of publications, presentations, reports, and other study-related documents
- Enter data and perform literature searches, administrative duties, and additional tasks as needed
- Provide patients with guidance for troubleshooting and navigating a variety of technology platforms
- Participate in and lead virtual meetings with external research sites
- Bachelor?s degree
- 1 year of related experience preferred
- Experience working in a medical or scientific research setting or comparable technology-oriented business environment preferred
- Bilingual Spanish proficiency preferred
- Two year minimum commitment

- Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and willingness to learn other technologies.
- Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Strong problem-solving skills.

- Ability to discuss personal topics with patients in a compassionate, sensitive manner.
- Ability to practice discretion and always adhere to hospital confidentiality guidelines.
- Ability to follow-through, prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
