Position Title: Electric Vehicle Charging Infrastructure System Architect (Req# 39727)
Job Description:
Develop EV AC charger architectures and lead system integration including internal and external elements into comprehensive commercial solutions. Lead Eaton technical engagement with target EV customers for outcomes, consultative and solution opportunities. Work closely with Eaton’s core engineering faculties (Electrical, Mechanical and Software) to synchronize product design and manufacturing efforts with established and new system architectures. Identify and communicate risks related to the design, development, implementation, and support of the EV charger subsystems and/or its integration with other systems/subsystems; work with the team to prioritize, develop and execute mitigations and contingency plans. Articulate the Eaton Charger solutions to product teams as well as senior technical operations teams. Stay current with latest technologies and regulatory standards in relation to utility demand management and DER integration as well as Electric Vehicle Charging. Participate in development, testing and certification for architecture elements of Eaton’s EV charging systems. Work with internal Eaton teams and third-party technology providers to identify customer business challenges, facilitate requirements gathering sessions, architecture presentations, product feature descriptions and value propositions, and software solution demos – effectively, creating an alignment across the EVCI value-chain. Respond to technical RFP documents, put together solution requirements and design, system customization and configuration, align offerings and ultimately be the technical point of contact for maintaining the solution roadmap.

Job Requirements:
Requires a Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Technology, or a directly related field plus one (1) year of experience as software specialist. Experience must include:
One (1) year of experience in each of the following (experience may be gained concurrently):
- Experience in Internet of Things Frameworks and protocols including at least one of the following: HTTP/HTTPS, Azure IoT, AWS IoT, or MQTT
- Experience in Embedded System Design, Embedded Controller and processor architectures, embedded Linux, Real time Operating System, or Embedded Firmware Development
- Experience in wireless communication including at least one of the following: Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, or Cellular
- Security concepts including at least one of the following: Encryption, certificates, key management, penetration testing or software code compliance
- Experience with the product development process while managing commercial expectations and project timelines
- Engagement with associated product standard bodies including at least one of the following: SAE, UL, IEC, or NEC
Will accept a Bachelor’s degree plus five (5) years of experience as software specialist in lieu of a Master’s degree plus one (1) year of experience.
40 hours/week, 8:00am-5:00pm.
